Medsien spotlight

Meet Lynn C.

Lynn C. is from Central Missouri, and has worked as a certified MA for 15 years. Lynn is one of our newest Care Partners and she has really hit the ground running.

Meet Lynn C.

She worked in a dental surgical clinic for a long time, and was looking to move into family medicine. During this search, she learned about remote work and was looking into patient care coordinator positions when she connected with Medsien and it all came together.  It can be hard to make a big change well into your career, but Lynn loves the work, her patients, and can be more available to help with her grandchildren now too. With this job you can be satisfied professionally and personally. She notes it was a great change.

Lynn says the best thing about her job is building relationships with the patients. And as you build the relationship (even after just the second call) - and get to know more about the patients - you can help them even more. She feels that the consistent, personalized care we provide at Medsien allow our Care Partners to get to know the patients, and build relationships – enabling her to provide more depth to their care as she learns and  knows more about them. Lynn also loves that the Medsien team is so supportive and helpful.

“When I’m talking to these patients for the 2nd or 3rd time, I learn  more about them and their conditions… so I can research something offline and get back to them.”

Lynn notes that an important part of the role is that Care Partners have both clinical and clerical skill sets.  She feels it’s really important that at Medsien both skill sets are recognized as crucial and valuable, which is really nice to know.

Lynn has quickly become an important part of the team and has already helped so many patients.

Braving the wilderness: Tackling remote care in rural areas
The shortage of doctors/providers in rural areas (shortage of clinics in these areas too) is profound. Shortages are even worse for specialists and sub-specialty care in these settings. Many Medicare patients require complex, specialty care in addition to well managed primary care for chronic conditions.

Aging baby boomers and the growing demand for senior care
Throughout the Great Depression and the Second World War, birthrates in the United States remained fairly low. Having the data integrated is helpful, but does not create any important data flows or streamline any data communication or operations. Remote care management is much more than the EHR.
